Share the Love

Once again, Subaru will be having their Subaru of America, Inc. Share the Love event.  Anyone who purchases or leases a new Subaru during this event can select one of four charities to receive a $250 donation from Subaru.  Share the Love started yesterday, November 16, 2017, and continues through January 2, 2018.  There will be no cap on the total donation to the charitable partners.  This is the 10th year for this promotion, and Subaru hopes to exceed $115 million in donations by its completion.  You can choose from the ASPCA, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels, and the National Park Foundation.  I realize that this is does not fit into the category of “small” acts that you can do to make the world better, but I’m sharing this information, just in case you might be in the market for a new car.

I got a package of baking mixes and goodies from King Arthur Flour the other day and noticed that the package sealing tape said “Essential Goodness, Buy A Meal, Give A Meal”, so I went on their site to check it out.  The King Arthur Flour Company (https://www.kingarthurflour.com/) has a line of baking mixes called “Essential Goodness”, and for each one of these mixes purchased, King Arthur will donate the cost for Feeding America to supply 1 meal.  They have guaranteed a minimum annual donation of one million meals to Feeding America.  There is no limit to what they will give and no end date.  They hope to donate two million meals by 6/30/2018, for a total donation of $181,200.

It’s cold and windy in Pennsylvania.  I hope that wherever you are, you are warm and cozy.
